Title

Letter from the nuncio to France, Carlo Roberti de' Vittori to PF, 1666-08-20, Paris

Subject

Scotland

Description

Letter from the nuncio to France, Carlo Roberti de' Vittori, to PF. The nuncio writes that he did not receive any proposal from the superior of CM [René Alméras], for a missionary which could be sent to the Scottish mission instead of Gioanni Bianchi [John White], although he has asked for it several times. He also believes that if there were anyone willing to go there, they could not currently be sent, due to the situation between France and England. If the situation changes, however, the nuncio will start to ask the superior of CM again for a missionary. PF notes on the back state that this letter should be answered. The letter dated 20th of August 1666.
