Description

Minutes of PF general meeting of 4 July 1650 discussing among other issues, the letter of the nuncio to Poland. He writes that the king of Poland has granted concessions to the Ruthenian Orthodox, and that he has protested against those concessions. The cardinals decided to ask Cardinal Panzirolo to write to the princes of the country [they mean the patrician families of Ruthenia], asking that they not accept those concessions. PF also decided that the issue should immediately be referred to the Assessor of the Holy Office, so that a course of action may be discussed in its tribunal.
