Title

PF minutes, 1646-02-27, Rome

Subject

Babylon

Description

Minutes of PF general meeting discussing, among other issues, the Babylon coadjutorship. In response to the letters sent by the nuncio to France and the bishop of Babylon, PF decided to offer the coadjutor position to Christophe Authier, with an annual provision of 100 scudi from the bishop himself and 100 scudi from PF, to be provided until the death of the bishop, after which Authier would receive the entire annual "mensa" (the revenue reserved for the personal subsistence of the bishop) of 700 scudi/year. If Authier declines, then the nuncio or the legate in Avignon (depending on Authier's location at the time) should ask him to nominate another candidate from among his missionaries in Avignon.
