Description

Letter from the nuncio to France, Nicolò Guidi di Bagno, regarding the bishopric of Babylon and his own conversation with Authier on the matter. Authier said that he unfortunately could not go to Babylon, but that he and "Father Vincent" (Vincent de Paul) will look for a good candidate, either from Avignon or from France. The nuncio also mentions in this letter that the queen of France and Cardinal Mazzarin have decided to assign 400 scudi/year to the current bishop of Babylon, in order to make it easier for him to renounce the bishopric income.
