Description
Minutes of PF general meeting of 9 September 1652 discussing among other issues, a petition on behalf of Jean Le Vacher, member of CM and vicar apostolic in Tunis. He asks for three things: a) the authority over all religious (both free and slaves), and the faculty to punish them when needed; b) that all ceremonies, other than those according to the Roman rites, be forbidden to all priests in the city; and c) the faculty to read mass before sunrise or after midday, so that the slaves who have to work all day can attend. The cardinals agree to the first and third issue, and order that nothing be changed with respect to the second.
