Description

Minutes of PF general meeting of 9 December 1652 discussing among other issues, a petition on behalf of Jean Le Vacher, vicar apostolic in Tunis. He asks that his mission be extended to Tripoli, as had been the case for his predecessor Julien Guérin; Le Vacher wants to be able to visit the city, as currently there are many Christian slaves, but no missionaries in Tripoli. The cardinals decide to decree that his jurisdiction and faculties be extended to Tripoli, and to other cities in the diocese of Carthage where there are no missionaries.
