Letter from PF to the nuncio [Nicolò Guidi di Bagno], 1656-06-12, Rome

Copy of a letter from PF to the nuncio to France, Nicolò Guidi di Bagno, stating that the Maronite Patriarch (clergy and people), have asked the pope to send a visitor to their region; the pope has asked PF to find a suitable candidate. The cardinals think that Vincent de Paul could offer a priest from his congregation, so they ask the nuncio to look for a CM candidate. They add that the candidate does not have to know the language of the region, since he will be accompanied by an interpreter. The letter dated 12 June 1656.
